What is Invisalign?

Invisalign is a teeth straightening system designed to be invisible. It uses a series of transparent, removable, and comfortable plastic aligners to gradually move your teeth into their correct positions. Each aligner is precisely calibrated to fit your mouth at each stage of the treatment plan. Dr. Elhady uses a 3D image of your teeth to customize your aligner trays for the process.

Why Would I Want Invisalign?

If you are an adult seeking orthodontic treatment, or have a teen who tends to be self-conscious, Invisalign may appeal to you. The clear aligners are removable, so you can eat, drink, brush and floss more naturally. Invisalign treatment also allows you to view your own virtual treatment plan at the beginning of the process, so you can see how your straightened teeth will look when treatment is complete.

How Does Invisalign Work?

Invisalign works using clear plastic aligner trays that gradually move the patient's teeth over time. After an initial consultation and assessment of the patient's orthodontic needs, Dr. Elhady will create a treatment plan, using customized aligners that the patient will change out every two weeks over the course of treatment. Unlike traditional braces, Invisalign does not require wire or metal appliances. The aligners are transparent and comfortable to wear.

How Much Does Invisalign Cost?

There really isn't an "average" cost of treatment-- the amount you spend will depend on the patient's age, the nature of the problem, and the type of treatment recommended. Without insurance, Invisalign treatment can range from $3,000 to $7,500, based on the complexity of treatment. If you have dental insurance, find out if it includes coverage for orthodontic treatment. It is possible that your policy will at least partially cover the cost of orthodontic care.

How Often Do I Need to Visit the Office?

The frequency of your visits will depend upon the orthodontic appliance and treatment recommended by Dr. Elhady. Patients who choose Invisalign have a more flexible appointment schedule, making Invisalign a preferred option for its ease and convenience.

What Foods Should I Avoid Eating While Wearing Invisalign?

Invisalign aligners are completely removable, so you are able to continue enjoying your favorite foods during treatment.
